Strut Mount vs Strut Bearing: Differences and How to Choose
Two Parts, Two Functions
Strut mount: Rubber-metal composite at strut top, elastic connection cushioning impacts.
Strut bearing: Thrust bearing inside the mount enabling steering rotation.
Relationship
- Mount assembly = mount rubber + bearing
- Steering noise = bearing; bump noise = rubber
- Often replaced together (same labor)
Which to Replace?
- "Pop" when steering → bearing
- Dull thud over bumps, cracked rubber → mount
- Both bad → replace assembly
Huami makes both machined cores/tubes and complete mounts and bearings.
